Ways to straighten curved penis
Straightening of a curved penis is mainly based on two principles i.e. prevention for any future curves and correction of the existing curves:
Prevention: Following simple tips have been strongly advocated by sexperts in order to avoid the development of a curve in the penis:
- Avoid sleeping on your belly. It is best to sleep on right side or on your back.
- Increase the use of vitamin-E rich food or supplements in your diet to ensure smooth and consistent blood flow though your penis
- Keep changing the direction of your penis in clothes especially while wearing tight-fitting pants
- Avoid sexual positions that can put you at the risk of penile injury
Conventional treatments: Fortunately, in most cases, a curvature can be straightened out, and most men may eventually opt for this for fear that it may interfere with intercourse. However, it also hurts their self esteem and may cause him to be shy around women.
Doctors suggest Vitamin E, to be taken with meals. Vitamin E promotes healing (theorized) and prevents future scarring.
Another option is to use a cream that contains verapamil (a calcium channel blocker drug) which helps to break up the scar tissue. The last resort for dealing with a curved penis is surgery; this is a drastic solution and should only be considered if every other option has failed.
Extenders / stretchers: The easiest approach is with penis traction device (stretcher or extender). This involves stretching the side of the penis that has the scar tissue so that it matches the other side. A penis device will keep your penis stretched out straight for long periods of time and slowly correct its curvature (similar to wearing braces to straighten out teeth).
Finally, a curved penis is frequently occurring condition that should not be ignored. While a slight curve is considered normal, any prominent curve should never go unnoticed as it could create serious health and sexual complications. Fortunately, with the use of traction-based devices such as extenders, it is now possible to successful manage and treat the curve.
In case of Peyronie’s disease – please consult your doctor if an extender would be a viable option in your certain case.
