Interview about masturbation: last questions

Can it be possible that for some person masturbation seems better than sex (substitute it completely)?

Yes, it’s possible, but masturbation is not a reason for that. This is connected with psychological traumas and lapses. For instance, exhibitionism which we already mentioned previously or narcissism – person loves himself and his body so much that during sex he needs a mirror where he can watch his reflection. But this already is another subject about which we can talk other time.

Is there different ways of masturbation, periods?

Yes, masturbation as many other processes can be divided in several levels: child masturbation, games – getting to know his penis; puberty period masturbation – preparation and maturation period for sexual life; masturbation as substitute in case of lack of sexual contacts – lack of sexual partner or compulsive situation (trips, army, jail etc.) and “compulsive” or intrusive masturbation – expression of illness, most often of neurosis. In situation of compulsive masturbation you should seek for a help of doctor – psychologist or psychiatrist, because it is connected with mental problems. For teenagers at puberty age it’s often an expression of neurosis. It’s often a compensation for something – lack of attention of parents, conflict in school, troubles at work etc..

Of course we also want to know – who is practicing masturbation?

Masturbation is practiced by boys and girls, men and women, married and unmarried people.Statistic data says that up to 97% of men has practiced masturbation during their life. That doesn’t mean that we call for all who have not done that yet start practicing it right away. No, this is not an invitation. Though, statistic is a fact. Before, judging from numbers, boys were doing that more often than girls. Now these numbers are about the same. That means that masturbation is not only the way to self satisfaction but also way to prevent you from catching sexually transmitted diseases including HIV. The poll taken by teenagers in Finland on 1971 showed that 26% from questioned had not masturbated, but already on 1992 it hadn’t been done only by 10%. Some more interesting statistic data comes from France where 1/3 of questioned boys admitted that they started masturbate after their first kiss. Masturbation is a preparation for sex life. Now, attention focuses on those who haven’t masturbated, because this might be connected with bad development of sexuality. Some scientists though think that boys who have started masturbate early, save their sexuality longer in future life.
